Q: I did my audit a long time ago. Is it still valid for getting this 50% rebate?

A: You must complete your air sealing and insulation work within 1 year of your audit date. If you wait more than 1 year, then ecobeco needs to come out to re-test your home and update your audit report before you begin the improvements. We charge $100 for an update. Customers who have updates completed after February 1, 2013 are subject to the 2013 performance minimums for Home Performance rebates (see above).

There are now programs in Virginia that can benefit you:

• Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP) Northern Virginia provides subsidies for Home Performance work for Arlington residents only. Incentives include $250 towards the Home Energy Audit, up to $1,000 cash for the completion of a Home Performance job, and there are low-interest loans available.
